I feel like this is such an eloquent expression of understanding that, “I am not my body; I am not my mind. I am an atman/spirit soul. An eternal spark of the Supreme Soul.”

It’s so easy to get lost in our thoughts and emotions. Anchoring ourselves back into the reality of our spiritual identity can help us allow thoughts and feelings to exist as temporary experiences. This creates a little window of separation between our self and the subtle covering of the mind, offering an opportunity to choose to respond (or allow the experience to pass), rather than being overwhelmed - feeling as if the contents of our mind are our entire and only reality.

And when we turn to God for guidance, our thoughts and actions may become influenced by His expert direction 🥰

Technique Feature: Warrior 3 Virabhadrasana III 

Technique Feature: Warrior 3
Virabhadrasana III  Warrior 3 is a great pose for learning the importance of foundations. Setting up the pose from your base, and only expressing out into the full expansion of the pose when you’ve developed the strength, awareness and balance to do so will enable you to practice the pose with confidence and consistency.

Some of my key points for practicing this pose include: 
▪️Shifting your weight on to your standing foot first; take a couple of breaths here.
▪️Firm your standing leg thigh and squeeze your glutes; draw your navel in; then slowly raise your back leg.
▪️Keep your arms by your sides until you're stable (maybe don’t even take them in front if you’re not feeling stable)
▪️SQUEEZE. YOUR. GLUTES. This will help to stabilise your pelvis and create a nice strong pillar from your feet to your hips.
▪️From there, lengthen into the crown of your head, press back into your raised leg heel, then raise your arms and reach into your finger tips.

THE YUMMY FEELING > is when you’re standing firmly on one leg, and can simultaneously reach out into your fingertips and equally back into your heel; relax your mind... and you become suspended in space in that cool asana-experience: the sense of buoyancy that comes when you find balance between effort and surrender.

Doshas (Balancing for):

Pitta: encourages relaxed effort and a slow pace; helps to calm the mind.
Kapha: opens the chest and lungs; invigorates the body.

Everyone can experience the happiness and joy that serving God brings, no matter what your occupation, religion, or how big or small your offering is.

My spiritual teacher taught me that it’s not what you’re doing, but who you’re doing it for that matters.

“If one offers Me with love and devotion a leaf, a flower, a fruit or water, I will accept it. Whatever you do, whatever you eat, whatever you offer or give away, and whatever austerities you perform- do that, O son of Kunti, as an offering to Me. In this way, you will be freed from bondage to work and its auspicious and inauspicious results. With your mind fixed on Me in this principle of renunciation, you will be liberated and come to me.” (Spoken by Lord Krishna in the Bhagavad-Gita Ch.9 txt 26-28)
